GABF come and Gone

This past week in Denver was the Great American Beer Fest (GABF). Four sessions of beer madness.

Thursday night was pretty crazy. We titally scored as my wife had a show at the Denver Performing Arts Center and we were right next door at the Convention Center, How cool is that. Lots of great beers from HUB, Ithaca, Lost Abbey, New Belguim, and the OR, NY, CA, NC State Brewing Co-ops.

Saturday's Member Only session was half the crowd as Thursday night. As soon as we entered the doors we sleeved the glass given only at this session and swapped out the plastic we got from Thursday. You could hear the dropped glass over the course of the night and all the Ahhs that went along with it. Today's highlights were Deschutes, New Glarus, Goose Island, Durango, Ithaca, Russian River just to name a few. We tried many of the 2008 medal winners along with some of this year's winners too.

360 days til next year's event. Some snaps from this year's event.

GABF Almost HERE!!

Its almost here. The amazing Great American Beer Fest is next week. If you are a beer enthusiast this the event of all events for American Craft brewing. This is the event that has helped define me personally as a beer geek, snob whatever.

This event provides the opportunity to sample some of the best beer in the country under one roof. Chat with fellow homebrewers and just gain more knowledge and respect for the fermented beverage.

This year we will kick it off on Thursday night session (first of 3 public sessions) and then the Members Only Saturday Afternoon Session will be the last.

Stay tuned for more as the days get closer.

Last years event was kinda wild as seen from some of Jeff's charades.
